Containerization has taken IT automation to a whole new level, and docker is my favourite party pal. The Docker Hub and the huge community are some of its most valuable features.

I’m currently leading a data science area and one of my goals is to create a corporative blog to internally share some achivements. With this post I’d like to show how ridiculous, in terms of complexity and time, to deploy a fully operational WordPress blog might result.

Only 2 commands: deploy the MySQL database and the second for the blog itself.

$ docker run --name mysql-blog \
-e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=my-secret-pw -d mysql
$ docker run --name wordpress --link mysql-blog:mysql \
-p 80:80 -d wordpress

Point your browser to your server IP and that’s all!
